Service Project

To complete the service aspect of this project, I volunteered at the Community Pregnancy Center of Lake Norman, a Christian pregnancy center trying to save lives and limit the number of abortions in the Lake Norman area. First, I attended a 2-hour training course that helped explain what they do and how volunteers could help. I then hosted a "baby shower" to raise collections and donations for moms in need. This pregnancy center has two locations, one in Mooresville and one in Huntersville. Many people attended, and I  raised over four bins of donations. Through this service, I realized I wanted to help this center try and help struggling moms with their pregnancies and after the baby is born. This center is having a life walk on September 23, and I plan to continue to assist this organization in any way I can. Below are pictures from the baby shower and how much I collected. There was more collected after these pictures were taken, and some monetary collections were received as well.
